We’re hiring – Full time graduate videographer/editor opportunity at Nova Studios
Business is booming and we’re growing our team again so we’re looking for a trainee/graduate shooter who also loves to cut.
Nova is established as one of the leading production companies in the North of England. You’ll be working on all kinds of corporate work for the communications, engineering, education and tourism sectors, together with a range of more creative and documentary content for arts organisations.
You’ll normally be part of a two person crew working in an equal partnership with a director/journalist – they’ll look after the story, you’ll make it look great.
Life at Nova
In a typical month you might be on top of the Forth Bridge, at a street food festival, shooting staff interviews in a brand new corporate HQ in London, making a show-home promo, filming the restoration of a fishing boat, delivering training to film-makers in Sierra Leone. Whatever it is – and at Nova we do all of these things – we need you to have the skill to understand the visual story, shoot it and sell it like it was the best job you ever worked on. At Nova Studios we make all kinds of films, but we put the same amount of love into everything we do.
Your creativity will be valued and you’ll have the opportunity and resources to develop your own creative projects. You’ll be pleased to see your skills and your portfolio growing by the week.
Though we are a small team, we believe diversity makes us stronger and better. There is no normal at Nova. We’re not looking for the same, we’re looking for different. We want to work with someone who is proud of who they are and who knows they can be brilliant – and we’ll support you all the way.
What we’re looking for and how to apply
If all of this sounds exciting then we can’t wait to hear from you.
Your portfolio is just as important as your qualifications, great if you can show both. We’ll need to see work you’ve shot and edited, so please send us links – and send us a CV too – but we’re equally interested in who you actually are, not simply what you’ve done.
We’ll need you to be very good friends with Premiere and After Effects, we’d want you to get geeky about camera stuff and you should love a good story.
You’ll be comfortable working to a brief, working fast and never missing a deadline. You’ll be happy to make changes you don’t always agree with and to patiently find your way through a client’s amendments.
You’ll take on plenty of responsibility, but you’ll be supported and trusted too. We’re very family friendly and we value kindness. We appreciate music, art, words, food, documentaries and politics – not always in that order. We eat together at lunchtimes. We don’t watch the clock but we do get the job done. We love it here – maybe you will too…
We understand it is the middle of the academic year so we are flexible with start dates.
And if all of this sounds good, then please send your stuff to email@example.com and we’ll be in touch…
If you’d like to know more, just ask.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, February 28th.
Salary: £19k – £21k depending on experience.
