Nova capped off a brilliant 2021 by helping to promote Hull to thousands of viewers around the world.
Almost every film we produce has been commissioned to exist online but more and more we create films tailored to specific platforms.

15 second in stream ads
Back in spring 2021, we were tasked with creating a 15 second clip to promote Hull to potential visitors and be fully compatible with YouTube’s non-skippable in stream ads.
We’re fortunate enough to own the largest collection of East Yorkshire commercial stock footage meaning we were able put something together that showcases the city’s vibrancy without the additional cost of shooting.
It seemed to do the trick, raking in over 35k views – so we were more than happy to oblige when Visit Hull asked us to do something similar for their festive campaign.
The winter ad proved to be another triumph – reaching over 82,000 potential visitors in less than two months.
Tailoring video to social platforms
Obviously, different films have different purposes, and you can’t always achieve the desired objectives in 15 seconds.
However, it’s almost always possible to create social media clips or trailers made using footage taken from a longer more comprehensive film to better fit with the requirements of specific platforms – be it duration for Twitter and YouTube ads or dimensions for Instagram and TikTok.
It’s the best way to hone in on specific parts of your message or story, reach your target audience and receive more content from the footage you’ve commissioned us to shoot.
