We’ve joined forces with Visit Hull and creative agency Pace Communications to bring the unique charm and magic of Hull to the rest of the nation this summer.
As part of a drive to boost tourism to the city, Nova were called on again, this time to create an advert to be broadcast to Sky TV viewers via their targeted advertising offer, Adsmart.
Fine dining, the cobbled streets of the old town, maritime history, architectural splendour, The Deep, greenery and festivals…it all needed to be in there – so our first task was developing a treatment that takes the viewer on a whistle stop tour of Hull’s many delights in the 30 seconds of allocated airtime.
A script to summon the senses
We got to work on a script. We wanted something that reflected the pace of life in the city, something to give the film movement and rhythm.
Visit Hull’s 2022 campaign centres on the slogan “It Must Be Hull”. Working in collaboration with the team at Pace, we developed a script to summon the senses: “Wake up, smell the coffee, hear the bells…feel the magic, and be part of it too.” Vibrancy, action and good times our operative words, with voiceover provided by our good friend and actor Zoe Lambert.
It’s our privilege to be able to show off our wonderful city to the rest of the UK, and jobs like this, which have us working with the people, businesses and organisations that make Hull great, emphasise to us what a brilliant place it is to live and work.
So, if you’re not lucky enough to live here and haven’t already planned your trip to Hull this summer then watch the ad and get your East Yorkshire city break on the calendar.
Feedback from Visit Hull
Here’s what Visit Hull’s Meredith Trowsdale had to say about working with Nova on the ad.
“Having worked with Nova on several smaller projects, I was delighted they were successful in securing the work on our Sky Ad.
“Nova made every effort to understand what we were trying to achieve and worked with us to create something which met our objectives using their professional knowledge and creativity.
“We were consulted at every step of the way and the team happily took our comments on board. We are thrilled with the final result and the reaction we have had from partners and wouldn’t hesitate to work with Nova in the future.”
