We were delighted when Hull Truck came to us when they wanted to create films celebrating their 50th birthday.
A series shot throughout the year, we sat down with the people who make the theatre such an essential cultural institution – from the patrons and amateur dramatists through to aspiring performers and writers.
This job was about telling personal stories. And sometimes when people are speaking about the thing they love, you don’t need spectacular b-roll and flashy editing.
With this in mind, we’ve used a stripped back treatment – interviewees addressing the viewer directly – telling us what Hull Truck means to them.
It’s always a privilege to talk to people about their passions and we hope this series of shorts has captured something of the magic Hull Truck has cultivated over the last 50 years.
