Following this visit we were commissioned to work with our Sierra Leonean colleague Lansana Mansaray to produce a series of 12 short films – one a month through 2017 – which explored the lives of counterparts in the two cities: the boxer in Hull, the boxer in Freetown; the hairdresser in Hull, the hairdresser in Freetown…
The films were broadcast by the Sierra Leonean state broadcaster SLBC and posted monthly in the UK on YouTube as part of Hull 2017’s accessible digital content.
